Hon. Abdihakim Hassan Ashkir

The Deputy Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation is Hon. Abdihakim Hassan Ashkir. He brings long experience in public service, with skills in international relations, diplomacy, leadership, administration, and conflict resolution.

Mr Ashkir previously served as State Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, State Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia, and as Somalia’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He also played an important role as a member of the Technical Committee of the Somali Electoral Agreement of September 2020.
