Minister Hosh Joins IGAD Leaders to Review Nairobi Declaration Implementation

H.E. Ali Yusuf Ali Hosh, Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation joined fellow ministers from across the IGAD region at the IGAD Support Platform Ministerial Stock-take Meeting.

The high-level gathering brought together Ministers of Interior, senior government officials, United Nations representatives, development partners, and the diplomatic community to review regional progress on the implementation of the Nairobi Declaration and the Global Compact on Refugees.

During the meeting, the Minister engaged in discussions alongside representatives from Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, South Sudan, Sudan, and Uganda, reaffirming Somalia’s commitment to regional cooperation, shared responsibility, and durable solutions for displacement-affected communities.

Minister H.E. Ali Yusuf Ali Hosh delivered Somalia’s national statement, during the Ministerial segment.

In his speech, he highlighted the country’s ongoing efforts to strengthen national policies, reinforce protection frameworks, and enhance coordination on displacement, reintegration, and resilience.

He emphasized the government’s continued progress in aligning national legislation with regional and international commitments, reaffirming Somalia’s dedication to collaborative and principled approaches to durable solutions.
