The Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs, and Reconciliation H.E Ali Yusuf Ali Hosh visited the Somali Disaster Management Agency where Commissioner Mr. Mahamuud Moallim and his team took him through the progress, challenges and workplans of the agency.
During the Minister’s visit, Commissioner Mahamuud Moallim explained that droughts, fires and terror attacks are among the biggest factors that lead to disaster and loss of life in Somalia.
He furthered explained what his office is doing to prevent and these disasters.
“Disaster management is not just about responding to crises, it is about building resilience and ensuring that no Somali is left behind in times of need. We must prepare for and prevent the recurring disasters facing our nation”
