The Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation, with the leadership of H.E. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi hosted members of the public at the Ministry’s Annual Community Reporting and Outreach Conference.
“We are here today to report back to the people of Somalia on the work we’ve done over the past year and the work that remains to be done.”

Also in attendance, the state minister and the Director General among representatives from the Ministry’s different stakeholders.
The main segment of this event was a question-and-answer session where members of the public asked questions directly to the leadership of the Ministry, as well as presentations of the Ministry’s activities over the past year both in magazine form and as well as in a documentary.
The event concluded with H.E Ahmed Moallim Fiqi handing out awards to the most notable individuals, departments and institutions in the achievement of the Ministry’s mandate in the year 2023
Among awards handed out include were:
- Staff of the Year: Ms. Fadumo Aweis Mohamed
- Leadership Award of the Year: Abdullahi Hussein Bihi
- Department of the Year: Department of Civil Registration and Vital Statistics
- Humanitarian Aid Service Award: Mr. Mohamud Moallim Abdulle
- Certificate of Recognition: Mr. Mustaf Abdullahi Hassan
Other individuals awarded included the district commissioners of Mahas, Adan Yabal and Haradhere for their efforts in leading their communities in the fight against the Khawarij terrorist gangs.
