Mogadishu, 27 Oct 2023, The Federal Cabinet today passed the draft IDPs act proposed by the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation through its sub agency the National Commission for Refugees and IDPs.
The draft will now move on to the Federal House of Representatives for review, revision, and approval.
The IDP Bill provides a comprehensive framework for the protection and assistance of IDPs in Somalia, it serves as a legal basis for the National Commission for Refugees and IDPs efforts to provide sustainable solutions for the protracted displacement in the country.
