Celebrations of The 63rd Anniversary of Somalia’s Independence And Unification

 

 

Mogadishu July 01, 2023; Today in Mogadishu, a celebration of the 63rd anniversary of Somalia’s independence and unification in a large gathering organized by the Independence Day organizing committee led by the Minister of Interior Federal Affairs and Reconciliation H.E Ahmed Moallim Fiqi.

 

 

The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, Deputy Prime Minister H.E Salah Jama and the Minister of Interior Federal Affairs and Reconciliation H.E Ahmed Moallim Fiqi are among government officials joining the celebrations at Mogadishu stadium.

 

 

Also in attendance, the entire workforce of the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation, staff and members of other government institutions, traditional elders and the general public.

 

 

In his official speech H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, President of the Federal Republic of Somalia congratulated the public on this special day of independence and freedom. Adding that Somalia will be liberated from the domestic oppression of Al-shabaab, as it has been liberated from foreign oppression.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud further stated that at this time, Somalia has three main priorities.

  1. Liberating the nation from the oppressive terror gangs of Alshabaab.
  2. Rebuilding the economy and debt relief.
  3. Finalising the constitution of the Republic.
