High-level Stabilization And Early Recovery Meeting In Mogadishu

 

 

Mogadishu June 22, 2023; The Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia H.E Salah Jama and the Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation H.E Ahmed Moallim Fiqi started a high-level Stabilization and Early Recovery Meeting in Mogadishu this morning. In attendance are stabilization line Ministries at both Federal and State levels, the Special Envoy for Civil Protection and Stabilization, the Somali National Army, the Somali Disaster Management Agency and Somalia’s stabilization partners among other high-level stakeholders.

“Without clear structures, a program cannot succeed, therefore the government of Somalia spent a lot of time and effort to establish a structure and coordination mechanism for the crucial stabilization program.

The commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SODMA) Mahamud Moallim gives a statement on the humanitarian and disaster mitigation efforts that go alongside the country’s stabilization efforts. Expresses his team’s commitment to the stabilization and recovery efforts.

 

 

Speaking on behalf of the Federal Member States, Hirshabelle’s Minister of Interior gave a brief update on the liberation operations being led by the community security forces and the Somali National Army.

 

 

 

Finally, OIC-UNSOM and Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Anita Kiki Gbeho expressed the United Nation’s commitment to working with the different government agencies on this multifaceted program.
