Following the devastating floods in Bardhere which affected 13 thousand families, killed 21 people and destroyed crucial infrastructure such as healthcare centres, schools, and more, The Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation His Excellency Ahmed Mo’allim Fiqi met with the Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General, alongside humanitarian actors UN-OCHA, WFP, IOM, UNICEF, FAO, UNHCR and SODMA. In discussion was the provision of quick humanitarian response to the community in Bardhere.
With the leadership of the Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation and in collaboration with the Somali Disaster Management Agency, the United Nations representatives committed to providing various forms of urgent humanitarian interventions to the community in Bardhere. This aid comes in the form of medicine, shelter, food and more.
