In a historic development, the House of Representatives of the newly established Northeastern State of Somalia convened today in Lasanod to elect the President and Vice President, marking a pivotal step in the state formation process.
The Presidential election of the Northeastern State of Somalia features the following candidates:
1.Hon. Rashid Farah Mahmoud
2.Hon. Abdirisankhalif Ahmed
3.Hon. Jamaal Mohamed Hassan
4.Hon. Abdiqadir Ahmed Aw-Ali (Firdhiye)
5.Hon. Mahmoud Yusuf Hassan
And the Vice-Presidential election of the Northeastern State of Somalia features the following candidates:
1.Hon. Omar Dahir Hassan
2.Hon. Abdirashid Yusuf Jibril
3.Hon. Abdirizak Mohamed Jama
4.Hon. Abdulsatar Shiekh Osman Omar
5.Hon. Mohamed Abdi Bulaale
Afterwards, Presidential candidates of the Northeastern State of Somalia started presenting their political programs and priorities to the House of Representatives, as the state’s presidential election proceeds smoothly in Lasanod
Following that, the vice-presidential candidates of the Northeastern State of Somalia present their political programs and priorities.
The Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation H.E. Ali Yusuf Ali Hosh, attended the ongoing presidential election process in Lasanod, observing the proceedings and supporting the smooth conduct of the state’s democratic process.
As a result of the election, H.E. Abdiqadir Ahmed Aw-Ali (Firdhiye) has been elected President of the Northeastern State of Somalia and H.E. Abdirashid Yusuf Jibril as the Vice President of the State. The Ministry of Interior Federal Affairs and Reconciliation congratulates the people of the Northeastern State as they embark on a new chapter of leadership and development.
H.E. Abdiqadir Ahmed Aw-Ali (Firdhiye) and H.E. Abdirashid Yusuf Jibril have been sworn in and certified as President and Vice President of the Northeastern State of Somalia, marking the official commencement of their leadership entrusted by the House of Representatives.
