The Minister of Interior Federal, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation H.E Ahmed Moallim Fiqi today had a consultative meeting with the traditional elders and community leaders of Awdal.
In discussion, Ethiopia’s breach of Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in Awdal.
The Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation H.E Ahmed Moallim Fiqi explained that as is with Somali culture, the Ministry intends to consult with the traditional elders and community leaders of our society in dealing with issues such as this.
Also in attendance, Senator Deqa H. Hussein who leads the Internal Affairs Committee of the Upper House of Representatives and Senator Bilal Idris Abdullahi
During the discussion, various traditional elders and community leaders of Awdal expressed their condemnation towards Ethiopia’s intentions, affirming that the people of Awdal are ready to fight to protect their land.
“Ethiopia always had intentions that crossed Somalia’s territory. They have always been after Zayla, but people of Somalia have always defended their territory from such intentions, and we will continue to do so.”
