Russia Delivered 25,000 Tons of Aid to the Federal Republic of Somalia

 

The Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation H.E Ahmed Moallim Fiqi attended the handover ceremony in which Russian Envoy to Somalia, Amb. Mikhail Golovanov handed over 25,000 tons of aid to support with the humanitarian crisis created by the recent floods.

 

“This is the largest humanitarian aid shipment to reach us in recent times, and we thank the envoy and Government of Russia.”

The Russian Envoy to Somalia, Amb. Mikhail Golovanov states that a second batch of 25,000 tons of humanitarian aid is expected to reach Somalia in late December 2023.

 

“It is worth noting that the people and president of Russia send this aid to the people of Somalia at a time where the country faces hardships caused by flooding, which affected 2.5 million people.”
