On October 11,2023, The Deputy Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation H.E Abdulhakim Hassan Ashkir and the National Commissioner for Refugees and IDPs Mrs. Safiya Hassan Mohammed attended this year’s Executive Committee Forum of the High Commissioner’s Programme (ExCom), in Geneva, Switzerland.
Mr. Ashkir delivered a speech touching on the concerns of refugees, IDPs and Returnees in Somalia. Underlining the importance of cooperation between the government and partners to meet these needs.
This was followed by a bilateral meeting between the Deputy Minis with the Deputy Assistant High Commissioner of Operations of UNHCR Mr. Raouf Mazou, at the UNHCR headquarters.
