On October 06,2023, in Mogadishu, H.E. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation, welcomed to Mogadishu a delegation led by SSC Leader Mr. Abdulkadir Firdhiye.
This was followed by an in-depth discussion between the two leaders on October 9th where Mr. Firdhiye explained situation of SSC-Khatumo, the impact of the conflict and the path to reconciliation.
“The conflict has caused the displacement of 300,000 people and the collapse of public services such as hospitals, schools and mosques” he said.
Minister Fiqi talked about the importance of a united Somalia, adding that his administration has always been committed to the reconciliation and long-term stability of the region.
