on September 7, 2023, the Director General of the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation Aidarus Moallim Hassan attended the closing session of the Strategic Communications and Media Training. Also, attendance was also the British Embassy’s Lead Stabilization Advisor Jim Haggerty.
Led by the Ministry’s Communications and Media Department, the four-day training brought together communication directors and officers from the Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA), the National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) and the National Commission for Refugees and IDPs (NCRI).
Also in attendance, the British Embassy’s Senior Stabilization Advisor, Jim Haggerty who thanked the Ministry’s communication team for putting the training together to unify government messaging.
During this training, MoIFAR’s Communication and Media Department led discussions and presentations on topics such as managing a communications team, strategic communications, communication for stabilization, media management, photography, videography, strategic messaging, graphic design, and social media management among others.
