On August 25, 2023, in Galkayo, Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs, and Reconciliation, H.E. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, members of the Federal Parliament, and other officials from Galmudug State received troops and military vehicles from Badwayn, led by the Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Ahmed Hassan Adam, and the Deputy Minister of Public Works H.E Mohammad Ali Mahmoud.
The delegation that accompanied these troops also included Mr. Zakaria Hassan Ali, the Political Affairs and Parliamentary Relations advisor to the President of Somalia as well as members of Parliament and Galmudug Administration officials led by the Deputy Speaker of Galmudug’s Parliament.
These troops left Mirjiiley village in the Galmudug region and are on their way to eliminate the Khawarij terrorist groups and expand the government’s rule. Local troops are also currently advancing to Wisil District, where they will join the Somali National Army, Galmudug Darawish and community security forces in liberation operations.
