On August 10, 2023, H.E. Ahamed Moallim Fiqi, Minister of Interior Federal Affairs and Reconciliation, 6th Africa Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Day.
Line Ministries and officials from the Federal Member States were in attendance at the event which discussed the possibility of expanding the scope of population services, enhancing the quality and timeliness of data transmission through the digital systems, bolstering, and safeguarding citizen data, and enhancing quality and providing resources.
Speaking at the Sixth Africa Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Day, H.E Ahmed Moallim Fiqi talked about the importance of an effective Civil Registration System that records the important life events of every citizen, events such as birth, marriage, divorce and death.
“The potential to increase coverage, improve quality and timeliness of data through digitalization of civil registration systems.”
