Somalia Celebrates The 26th of The June

 

 

Mogadishu 26 June, 203; As independence week celebrations kick off, the Federal Government of Somalia led by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud gathered last night to commemorate the 26th of June, the day Somalia’s northern territories gained independence.

 

 

In attendance alongside the president were the Deputy Prime Minister, the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliations.

 

 

The Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation H.E Ahmed Moallim Fiqi who is the chairman of the government’s organizing committee thanked members of the committee for their hard work and commitment to organizing the weeklong celebrations.

 

 

The Minister then added that the government of Somalia and indeed Somalis all over the world have a responsibility towards the vision of the brave men and women who fought for the freedom of the country.

 

 

“It is important to remember the commitment of those who fought for our freedom, and the dreams they had for this country. It is important to carry on vision they had for Somalia”- H.E Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation.
