United Nations Secretary General Visits Somalia

The Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation His Excellency Ahmed Mo’allim Fiqi was among Federal officials led by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud who met the United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres on his historic visit to Somalia this past week.

 

Following meetings in Villa Somalia which discussed ways to scale up humanitarian interventions aimed at combating the effects of prolonged drought and terrorism, Minister His Excellency Ahmed Mo’allim Fiqi and the United Nations Secretary General visited the Barwaqo IDP camps in Baidoa, Southwest State where they spoke to the community about their humanitarian needs and concerns.

 

Lastly, the Delegation met with the Southwest State of Somalia’s administration led by acting president Hon. Shamsa Mohamed Yarow who updated the the Minister of Interior Federal Affairs and Reconciliation and the United Nations on the humanitarian situation on the ground.
