With the leadership of the Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation H.E Ahmed Moallim Fiqi the “Xorriyad Ku Afur” campaign kicked off today. Delivering Iftar packages to more than 200 people in the newly liberated community of Adan Yabaal, Hirshabelle. These packages consisted of rice, flour, dates, milk and cooking oil and were handed to the most vulnerable people in the community.
Last year this time, the khawarij terror groups would extort the residents of Adan Yabal, taking away what little they had to survive. Now, this community receives food and support from their government. Some of the beneficiaries of this Ramadan campaign, gave their remarks thanking the Ministry of Interior of Interior, Federal Affairs and reconciliation.
“For a long time, this community was ruled by a certain group, but now the government is here and the government is doing a lot of good work. The government have become a shoulder for those in need, they give us water, electricity, food. We have not seen any of that in a very long time”.

“We thank the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation for the support they have given to the community in Adan Yabaal. We are grateful for this Iftar provided by our government. Only God can repay your kind efforts. We now see ourselves as a blessed community who has the support of their leaders and their government. A community who is treated with care and dignity. A community that is recovering. If I were to compare this Ramadan and the last, there is a huge difference in our lives this year. God has looked favorably upon us this Ramadan, with our Federal and State governments working to ease our burdens. Indeed, we cannot compare this time to last year, the difference is huge”.
The district commissioner of Adan Yabal Mohamud Sh Hassan who was at the distribution center thanked the ministry of Interior. Adding that the community received support from the Federal government and the state government with Iftar packages going to the most vulnerable in the community.
“We handed over this food to our vulnerable community. Those with disabilities, those who couldn’t afford food, those whose families were killed by the khawarij. We very much thank the minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation, H.E Ahmed Moallim Fiqi.” He said.
